QUARANTINE 101

Updated: Aug 17, 2023

Hello beautiful humans.

Whew, it is an ODD, very ODD time.

It is 5pm PST on March 17, 2020.

Several countries and US states are on lockdown due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The people in charge are highly recommending that those of us not yet in total lockdown practice self-quarantining and social distancing. I couldn’t agree more.

If we continue to live our lives as normal during this time, the hospitals will be overrun and too exhausted of resources to care for us all.

Please stay in as much as possible. Literally….. as much as possible. I urge you.

I know we are all afraid because of finances, but trust me when I see we WILL find a way to get through this.

The most important thing right now is the health and safety of humanity. The health and safety of our doctors and nurses.

What we must do in a time of quarantine?

Try your best not to stress. Stress lowers the immune system.

Stock up on what is needed for 2 weeks – 1 month. Please don’t get too crazy about this.

You really don’t need 5,000 rolls of toilet paper. Get what you need, and leave the rest for others.

Contact your credit card companies, bills that will be due, landlord, etc. if you cannot afford to pay them while you’re trying to afford to survive a crisis. I know this isn’t fun, trust me, but it’s important and must be done.

Don’t go to work if you can help it. Apply for unemployment insurance for the time being.

Take care of your body. Vitamins, healthy foods, and some exercise will go a long way.

Recommendations on what to do in a time of a quarantine. 🙂

-Clean your house, apartment, closet, car, whatever it is that you’ve been putting off cleaning.

-Organize your paperwork. We all know it can add up!

-Continue to workout, or start working out! Home/outside workouts can definitely be just as productive if not more productive than gym workouts. Don’t allow yourself to slip into weeks of being completely sedentary. While a few days of that is fine and sometimes even good and necessary, don’t make it a habit. You’ll only feel depressed and useless if you slip down that path.

-READ! Books hold so much power. Pick up a good book and have a goal of when you’d like to finish it by.

-Read AUDIOBOOKS! They are my favorite. Listen while you cook, shower, clean, workout, get dressed, put on makeup, relax, etc.

-Pray. If you have a faith, use this time to deepen it.

-Watch sermons, YouTube videos, podcasts about topics that interest you or that you want to learn about.

-Plan out your goals! What do you want out of the rest of 2020?

-Visualize. I love my vision board. It helps make everything that I want seem clearer. If you don’t vibe with vision boards that is fine, your brain can hold the images.

-Watch movies! Do you have a long movie list like myself? Use this time to slash that list down!

-Meditate. 5 minutes is enough. Make it a habit during this time of isolation. (I love Kundalini meditation or guided meditations). Another form can be sitting in stillness to relaxing music.

-Watch that TV show you’ve been wanting to see for so long but haven’t had the time.

-Connect with close ones over the phone or FaceTime.

-Deepen your relationship. If you’re quarantined with a loved one or significant other, use this time to deepen that relationship, especially through verbal communication.

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is that the government is not taking our rights away.

We are protecting ourselves by staying in and staying safe.

While it feels weird and unnatural, there are many ways that we can actually better ourselves and our lives in this time of global crisis.

I am here for you. I am constantly praying for the safety and peace of all humanity.

Love & light to you all,

Emily
