SURRENDER TO GOD | HERE'S WHY

There were about 2 years of my life when I turned my back to God… I figured life would be more exciting, more “fun”, without the “rules” of being a Christian.
Boy, was I wrong!
Those years were filled with emptiness, loneliness, and a deep desire for connection.
At the end of the 2 years, I couldn’t take it anymore. I had such a longing to know God again.
So I put my big girl pants on and decided I was going to church on the following Sunday.
That is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done for myself.
I signed up for an 8 week course at the church I’d been attending that was for people with questions. I came like a rocket with all of my hardest questions. Piece by piece, I began to trust God again.
It’s been about a year now since coming back to my faith. The passed year has been a time of questions, of learning who God is, and learning who I am in God.
I went to a mission camp called MFuge in July 2019, and ever since then I have vowed to God that my life is in His hands.
I want to live for him, make him proud, and trust that everything in my life, even the extremely difficult times, have a purpose. I feel a deep calling to surrender. This only came from me being open to feeling, hearing, and knowing God.
A year ago I couldn’t have met this amazing place of gratitude and grace that I’m in now. That being said, here are some reasons why I firmly believe surrendering to God will give you the most full life possible.
Why Surrendering to God is the Greatest Thing You Can do for Yourself
You can rely on His timing. Didn’t get the job you wanted? You can rest in knowing that God has a better job planned. You’ve wanted a baby for 4 years and haven’t been blessed yet? God has perfect timing, maybe he wants your finances to be a little better first, or for you and your husband to attend counseling first, etc.
You are never alone. Just got broken up with? He’s with you. Just got a divorce? He’s with you. Just moved to a new place by yourself? He’s with you. Suffering from depression? He’s with you.
Things start coming together for the good in your life. Ever since I made the decision 1 month ago that God was in control, things have come together even better than I could have ever imagined. I got a new apartment in an amazing area (that I didn’t seek out for, someone approached me!). I booked a movie (that I didn’t audition for; I woke up to an email with the offer!). & the list goes on! It’s incredible the amount of things that start happening for the better once you surrender.
Manifesting becomes second nature. We are children of the God of the universe. He created a perfect universe where like attracts like, and karma is a real thing. Ever heard the saying “what goes around comes around”? Well, that gives a pretty good description. Because of this, manifesting is possible! All of those things that I spoke about that have been happening for me above? All manifestations! Thank You, God for creating a universe that has our backs!
Honestly, the list goes on & on, but I will stop here for now.
These are the most prominent points that I have come into realization with since fully surrendering.
I also want to note: I have never, EVER, felt so much clarity and passion for my life as I do now.
I live every day with a sense of peace that all things happen for a reason, that God is a God who wants our success, and that good will soon be the overall vibration of the world.
